The wise man built his house upon the rock(x3), and the rains came tumbling down. (Do you know the song?) The rains came down and the floods came up(x3), but the house on the rock stood firm.

The foolish man built his house upon the sand(x3), and the rains came tumbling down. The rains came down and the floods came up (x3), and the house on the sand went SPLAT!

The story, told by Jesus in Matthew 7:24-27, is instruction from the Lord to hear and DO what is commanded in scripture. The wise man builds upon his obedience to the word of God. Faithfulness, joy (rejoicing in the Lord - even in adversity), trust, and long-suffering become building blocks for your life. The foolish man builds on lies, deceit, unfaithfulness, and laziness. The result of this building yields a structure doomed to failure.

So build your house on the Lord, Jesus Christ (x3) and the blessings will come down.
The blessings will come down as the prayers go up (x3) so build your house on the Lord.

The Great Life in Christ!

We all want the "good" things in life. Things like love, joy and peace. Most people seem to think they deserve these things without showing or defending them to others! The person who is most loved can, of all people, be most miserable if he loves no one else in return. Mother Theresa, who loved many thousands of people, didn't seem to need love in return. She felt loved, if only by the God who called her to her life's work - her life's love. Patience, kindness, and goodness all benefit a person most if they're shown to someone else. Of course one benefits from someone else's kindnesses shown to him, but not in the full measure that kindness can be good for him. Only by cultivating these things in one's own life can they be most beneficial and bring the most pleasure.
